TRANSFER STUDENTS
BCISOT welcomes transfer students desiring to develop their educational goals while wishing to transfer from another college. Sealed official transcripts must be submitted directly to BCISOT from all institutions of learning the student attended after graduation from high school. Such transcripts must indicate courses entered, show whether the course is in progress or completed, the grade assigned, and semester/quarter credit hours earned. Results of aptitude and other special tests taken and evidence of standing should also be indicated on the transcript.
CREDITS EARNED
The transferability of credit earned at other institutions and transferred to BCISOT is at the discretion of BCISOT. Note that the transferability of credit earned at BCISOT and transferred to another institution is at the discretion of the receiving institution.
CONFIDENTIALITY OF STUDENT RECORDS
BCISOT protects the confidentiality of the education records of current and former students. This policy is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of1974 (FERPA), as amended.
At its discretion the institution may provide directory information to include: student name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth, major field of study, dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, the most recent previous educational agency or institution attended by the student and participation in officially recognized activities.
Students may withhold directory information by notifying the registrar in writing.
Students wishing to review their academic record should visit the Aidan office, where they will be provided with the opportunity to inspect and review the information contained in their records with the exception of the following: financial information submitted by their parents, confidential letters and recommendations associated with admissions, employment, job placement, or honors to which they have waived their rights of inspection and review, or education records containing information about more than one student, in which case the institution will permit access only to that part of the record which pertains to the inquiring student.
NOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATORY POLICY
BCISOT admits students of any race, color, gender, or national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, or national and ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.
PART-TIME STUDENTS
BCISOT welcomes anyone who wishes to enroll as a part-time student.
AUDIT STUDENTS
Students who wish to enroll on a non-credit basis are classified as audit students.
Courses will appear on the student’s transcript, but will not be awarded academic credit.
Audit students who enroll in a course and later decide to convert the course for credit shall file an approved academic petition no less than four weeks prior to the end of the semester. Upon approval, the student shall pay the additional tuition and must submit all course assignments for a course grade to be applied to their transcript.
FOREIGN STUDENTS
BCISOT is not authorized to issue I-20 student Visas, nor does it offer housing; however, the external studies program is available, provided all requirements are met. See Delivery System and Admission Requirements sections.
Authorized Withdrawal - A student who wishes to withdraw voluntarily during a semester shall satisfy all financial obligations before withdrawal. Students who fail to meet financial obligations will not receive academic transcripts.
Grades of WP or WF shall be placed on the student’s transcript for the courses in which the student was enrolled based on their course grades at the time of withdrawal.
Unauthorized Withdrawal - A student who leaves during a semester without officially withdrawing will be administratively withdrawn. A grade of I (incomplete) shall be placed on the student’s academic transcript for courses enrolled in that semester, unless the dean specifies that WF (withdraw failing) be posted.
